The VeriGreen fossil fuel free pint glasses are linked to 100% waste sunflower oil via mass balance, that is sourced primarily from commercial frying oil. City by City, town by town, the UK is seeking to go fossil fuel free, part of a global movement to reduce emissions and meet climate change targets.
The material which is linked to 100% Used Plant Oil* and carbon neutral significantly lowers greenhouse gas emissions compared to material made from fossil fuel-based feedstocks.
The carbon footprint on a case of 100-pint VeriGreen is reduced, saving 1485 CO2. This is confirmed by the LCA certificate supplied by TOTAL, the raw material producer. It shows a
-180% cradle to gate CO2 saving compared to standard fossil fuel generated Polypropylene.

The waste sunflower oil used to produce the VeriGreen, is entirely waste material and helps to reduce waste water pollution. The residue streams can be traceable back to their point of
origin following the ISCC chain of custody. The waste oil is no longer fit for human consumption, and as such, does not impact food security or land. Its use reduces the carbon footprint of the end product compared to conventional polypropylene and contributes to the circular economy by helping to remove the need to use fossil fuels.
